The Pinot Bianco "Berg," from San Paolo's "Classic" line of offerings, represents a terrific value. While not showing the high-end sophistication of the "Ploetzner" bottling, this wine excels at what it sets out to do: provide accurate varietal character and integrity in a delicious wine one could drink every day.

It is a Pinot Bianco more forthcoming with fruit than many, especially highlighted by green apple, with good acidity and minerality. We think that Alto Adige may very well be a natural "home base" for this varietal and certainly produces some of the best Pinot Biancos in the world, and the fact that St. Pauls' "base model" Pinot Bianco is as good as it is supports that view.
