 Azienda Agricola Ferragu' Carlo
Carlo Ferragu is another member of our group of friends and suppliers whom could realistically be referred to as fanatical when it comes to making the very best wine imaginable. The winery is tiny and the production equally so. The first production of Valpolicella Superiore in 2003 was only in the range of several hundred bottles. It was gone before we even had time to think about getting US label approvals to bring it in. We were convinced by the first taste.
Frankly, we didn't know Valpolicella could be this good! This is a powerful wine, deep with extract, and yet completely balanced. It is terrifically food-friendly with a structure that promises a great potential for ageing. It is, however, highly unlikely we could resist drinking it long enough to verify that statement. We do not know how someone gets away with producing such amazing wine on the first try, but Carlo Ferragu has done it. Wine List |
